I do a lot of reading and over the last couple of weeks I have read a number of interesting articles with some great investment opportunities and musings which I wanted to share.
A quick scan of the markets nowadays shows that many banks are selling for below their net tangible assets. For a value investor such as me, this is usually a great sign that an investment is undervalued. If a company has net assets above its market value then it can simply liquidate and return cash to shareholders, giving an instant return. However banks are different.
The best investment ideas are not found in obvious places, you need to do the work and dig around. I have learnt that the hard way over the years, new investors lack patience and rely too heavily on summary information.
